John Tesser, MD
Locations: Glendale & Phoenix
Dr. Tesser is actively involved in performing multiple clinical research studies including all forms of rheumatic diseases with emphasis on rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. He has been principal investigator on over 200 clinical research trials. He actively serves as a speaker and consultant for many groups, and he has published over 30 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and Arthritis & Rheumatism.

Swati Bharadwaj, MD
Locations: Mesa & Paradise Valley
Dr. Bharadwaj started her clinical career in 2006 at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA as a rheumatology faculty where she had a full time clinical rheumatology practice and was actively involved with teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2008 with her husband who is also a physician and joined the Kaiser Health System in Los Angeles as a full time rheumatologist where she was consistently placed on the honor’s list for patient satisfaction. Dr. Bharadwaj moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in the fall of 2013 with her family and joined our group. Dr. Bharadwaj believes in an integrated, detailed, open and compassionate approach to patient care.

Saima Chohan, MD
Locations: Glendale & Paradise Valley
Dr. Chohan joined AARA in June 2013 from The University of Chicago, where she was on faculty for 9 years. In the academic setting, she was the Medical Director of the Rheumatology Clinic. She served as the Assistant Program Director for the rheumatology fellowship and was the Course Director for medical students and residents in rheumatology. She currently is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and remains committed to volunteer work at health care clinics in the area

Nehad Soloman, MD
Locations: Glendale, Phoenix & Sun City
Dr. Soloman has been a recipient of multiple awards for research and academic excellence during his career. He also achieved the highest honor of “Fellow of the Year” for outstanding performance and dedication to patient care upon graduation. He has published multiple journal articles and is a co-author in the “Sjogren’s Syndrome Handbook”. Dr. Soloman was award the patient choice award in 2010 and 2012. He continues to reach out to the community via public speaking through the Arthritis Foundation and was named Medical Honoree for 2014.

Eric Peters, MD
Locations: Flagstaff, Glendale & Paradise Valley
Dr. Peters was in practice in Kansas City for four years before moving to Phoenix to take his present position with Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates. He has been with AARA since 1997. He is actively involved in Arizona Arthritis Research, the clinical research arm of AARA. He has been involved in over one hundred clinical trials in rheumatology as either principal or sub-investigator. He has served as a national and regional speaker and consultant for many commercial, educational and humanitarian groups. He is a published author of journal articles and book chapters.

Ralph Bennett, MD
Locations: Mesa & Paradise Valley
Dr. Bennett has spoken extensively to the public about all aspects of arthritis, and numerous times at professional meetings. He has been active in well over a hundred clinical trials since the early 80’s,with an early focus on anti-inflammatory medications and the stomach, and a more recent focus on new treatments in rheumatoid arthritis. He has helped author textbook chapters, and many scientific articles. He has been active in the past on hospital committees and local medical foundations. Dr. Bennett grew up in Connecticut prior to his medical education.

Mona Amin, DO
Locations: Glendale, Phoenix & Sun City
Dr. Amin completed her rheumatology fellowship in 2007 and started her career at the University
of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. During her time as faculty, she was the Director of the Rheumatology Clinic and also actively involved with the medical education of students, residents, and fellows. She then moved to Los Angeles in 2009 and joined the clinical faculty at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center while continuing patient care in a clinical practice.

Jeffrey Loomer, MD, FACP, FACR
Locations: Tucson
Jeffrey B. Loomer, MD, FACP, FACR is Board Certified Rheumatologist who joins AARA after being in solo private in Tucson since 1992. Dr. Loomer is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School, Medical House Staff Lecturer at Tucson General Hospital, Question Writer for the American Board of Internal Medicine Certification Examination, Peer Review Consultant for the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners,
Admissions Committee Interviewer for the University of Arizona School of Medicine and has participated on Medical Advisory Panels to several pharmaceutical companies.

Daniel Kreutz, MD
Locations: Gilbert & Mesa
While in Texas Dr. Kreutz was the primary investigator studying any relationship between MRSA and anti-TNF drugs. Dr. Kreutz brought his family back to Arizona to complete his Rheumatology training with a fellowship at the University of Arizona.

Alexander Hu, DO
Locations: Flagstaff
My interest in medicine began with the fundamental belief that all people should have equal access to quality healthcare and was further piqued by research at the Rockefeller University and The Hospital of Special Surgery. During my medical training I had always found great satisfaction in outreach programs and was involved in a number of community education programs and The Flying Samaritans. Later, I was inspired to train in the field of rheumatology which took place in New Orleans at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center.

Joonhee Lim, MD
Locations: Gilbert
Dr. Lim is originally from South Korea. He completed his Rheumatology fellowship in 2014 then moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and worked as an attending physician at Sanford Health. He joined the AARA family in 2018.

Romy Cabacungan, MD
Locations: Tucson
Dr Cabacungan was a practicing Hospitalist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then completed his Fellowship in Rheumatology at UNM where he was Co-Chief Fellow. Dr Cabacungan was involved in multiple studies involving lupus and opioid use, lupus and marijuana use, and improvement in the success and quality of arthrocentesis. Dr Cabacungan was a practicing Hospitalist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then completed his Fellowship in Rheumatology at UNM where he was Co-Chief Fellow.

Andrew Sharobeem, DO
Locations: Glendale & Phoenix
Dr. Sharobeem was born and raised in New York City. He completed a seven-year combined program on both the Dean and President’s Lists at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York, and achieved his Medical Doctorate from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island and completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Amy Soloman, DO
Locations: Phoenix
Dr. Amy Soloman, DO is a Gastroenterology Specialist in Avondale, AZ and has over 17 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Soloman partnered with Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Research as an Investigator to work on a number of GI Studies. She graduated from NY College Of Osteo Med NY Institute Of Technology Old Westbury Medical school in 2004.

Sanjay Ahluwalia, MD
Locations: Advanced Gastroenterology, P.C
Dr. Ahluwalia partnered with Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Research to work on a number of GI studies. He has been practicing Gastroenterology since 2002 and joined AGA in 2012.

Ashish Sachdeva, DO

Dr. Sachdeva partnered with Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Research as an Investigator in 2018 to work on a Diabetes & Atrial Fibrillation studies. As an internal medicine physician, Ashish Sachdeva, MD, has over 25 years’ experience diagnosing and treating a variety of acute and chronic health conditions. At Pinnacle Care Internal Medicine in Peoria, Arizona, Dr. Sachdeva is known for his compassionate, comprehensive care and has been listed in Top Doctors magazine for five consecutive years. He is fellowship trained in geriatric medicine and affiliates with Banner Boswell Medicine Center in Sun City, Arizona, and Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Arizona.
